Jayne Temple-Heald, Director and Owner

Before founding Duchess HR, Jayne spent over 25 years working in senior HR roles for a number of large companies.

Jayne developed an understanding of the challenges involved in people management early on in her career when she worked as an Operational Manager in retail. This has given her an appreciation of the competing priorities faced by SMEs. Jayne is known for her ability to provide clear, direct advice that is commercially sound. She is curious, approachable, energetic and has high levels of integrity.

Jayne is great at developing relationships and becoming a trusted advisor to her clients. Jayne strongly believes that there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to HR. She immerses herself in her client’s business so that she can fully understand their needs and deliver solutions that work for them.
“After a long, successful career in corporate leadership and HR, I wanted to start a company that I felt passionate about; where I could really influence and add value to SMEs and independents in the South West. I saw a gap in the market for an outsourced HR consultancy for business owners who don’t want an in house HR team, but do need professional advice that they can rely on.

I’m really proud that Duchess HR has become the trusted HR partner for many entrepreneurs and established CEOs. Our mission is simple, to provide all of our clients with the service that they need, at the time that they need it, whilst not compromising their individual cultures.

The story behind the name Duchess HR? Well, my father was a keen car fan. His favourite car was the iconic Rolls Royce Duchess, and his handmade model cars were his pride and joy. My sister and I were forever getting in trouble for playing with them. We were lucky enough to go to many car events with him over the years, and after his passing, there really was only one choice for the company name..”
